Near continued with his puzzle. "Well, I'm happy to see the Death God won't be exercising that option on me. Though without my face, he can't kill me, unless I'm mistaken." He flipped one of the pieces in his hand. "So that threat, as of now, was completely empty." He put the piece in its proper position.
"So, basically, your job will be...to do anything I say. You won't take orders from anyone else, unless I specifically say so. Also, I'll need to know where you'll be, if you go out. You'll carry your phone and a beeper on you at all times, so I may contact you. Try to keep in areas where mobile connections are easy to establish..." He flipped another piece, putting it in place...

Mi nodded. He wasn't exactly the most happy friendly person but she could live with it. Anyone who worked on the Kira case probably wasn't happy friendly. "Of course. That shoulder be easy enough." Tsu sat down in a chair in front of the desk which her laptop sat on.
Tsu was uncomfortable with the whole situation. He didn't like this kid bossing her around, he didn't like him at all really but if Mi was ok with it then so was he. At least for now. He flicked at his green earing. "We get it. Maybe you should leave...now..."
"Stop being so hostile Tsu. It sickens me. This behavior is nothing like you at all," She shot an annoyed glance at him. Tsu was acting very strange all of a sudden.

Near sighed. "I don't take orders from you, Shinigami. I'm sorry to tell you." His tone was flat, but you could tell the message that was sent. This Shinigami needed to learn that, while Near didn't want anyone to get hurt, he was not their friend. He was their boss, their ruler. He said jump, they ask how high. It wasn't arrogance. It was fact.
"Tell me something, Mira, is that actually your name? Or is it a fake? Frankly, I don't care, but I'm curious. You can respond with an answer. You don't need to tell me the name." He sighed, and tossed a Tarot Card to the Shinigami. It was the card of death, which Near had always believed symbolized the Death Gods...

Tsu went back to his lighter, bubbly self. "'Course you don't cause you are a big man in a small body and only take orders from yourself." He giggled. This kid may have been smart but Tsu really didn't like the way he acted. He was, after all a kid and children usually should do as they were told, well, only if they were pesky and obnoxious like this kid. Tsu caught the card and chuckled. "You're fresh kid."
Mi sat down on her bed. "Though Mira is the name I have used my whole life it is not the name on my birth certificate, nor is it the name that was rightfully given to me by my mother and father. Truthfully I like it much better than my real name, which is a bit of a bore."
"And you Near? You said you knew my family from your time in England, my birth place. But how? Sure my parents weren't known for being the most secretive in their work but what brought you to track their children down?"
