On the Brink of Enlightenment Review
In this audacious write, the author, Sasuke Hayes, speaks about the entity known as Kira. He discusses Kira’s mortality and relates Kira to the average human. In the end, the only things Hayes purposely does not discuss with the reader are his own beliefs and opinions about whether or not Kira is justice. The reader is left anxiously searching for any innuendo of what Hayes believes, but the author astutely evaded leaving any such intimations.
Many reputable quotes are native to this literary municipality of philosophies. One of the most commonly discussed is a statement made halfway through this New York Times Best-Seller. Hayes says, “Somewhere powerful demons are scoffing at a human for posing as god; it’s an idea they wish they thought of first.” At another point in the book, the Kira Philosopher, as Hayes has been nicknamed in North America, says, “Kira’s brand of justice is somewhat inaccurate yet precise.” He goes on to explain that, scientifically speaking, accuracy and precise are not synonymous. Instead, precision is “…the consistency of the same level of accuracy.” He presents the question of the ambiguity of Kira’s justice metaphorically.
Hayes wrote On the Brink of Enlightenment while attending Howard University in Washington, D.C. However, he has just recently transferred to To-Oh University in Japan saying that he wishes to return home. He has lived here in America for two years.
